Committee Meeting 18th July 2010
Present: Nigel, David, Margaret, David, Kath, Albert, Jean
- Recent episodes of vandalism on the site. One of the main problems is that people are not locking the main gate.
Actions: Permanent lamintated sign to be made and permanently attached to the main gate. All plot holders to insist people lock the gate. Anti climb paint to be appliued to surrounding fences. Volunteers wanting to help will find paint and brushes in Kaths garage.
- Need to make a decision re the communal shed before the bad weather arrives. Received for shed with wooden base, £2,200. Committee felt it would last longer with a cement base.
Actions: Committee voted for a cement base dependent on cost. Need to check price of brick base also. If any money is leftover form the shed, consider erecting a large communal polytunnel.
- It was noted that very few plot holders are attending committee meetings and it tends to be the same people. If the site is to continue to thrive, it needs to be better supported by all plot holders. Suggested a newsletter to all plot holders asking for more support. We need to be thoinking about fund raising as it is unlikely in the current economic climate, that we wil receive anymore grants in the near future.
Action: Nigel agreed to pull together a newsletter for the Committee.
